“Love your neighbor is not advice…it’s a command. Should an accident of longitude and latitude really decide whether you live or whether you die? There are 2003 verses in scripture about the poor, second only to personal salvation. Jesus speaks of judgment only once and that is the passage in Matthew where we are asked: ‘who clothed the naked?’ and ‘who fed the poor?’ and ‘who visited those in prison?’ That defines whether you are a part of the Kingdom or not.”
What do you think?
One response to “The Gospel: via Bono”
this is your 2nd bono post here…can i assume that many of bono’s spiritual thought will be tracked on “live.work.play.”
i think his thoughts are true and loving your neighbor fully is a great way to bring glory to God. Alec Baldwin would disagree with Bono here because Alec Baldwin thinks the gospel needs to be shared verbally and he brings a Jesus van around showing Skate Videos as he tells them about Jesus.
If there were only some way to combine the work of Bono and Alec…
TO have a heart that serves social needs with the readiness and heart that wants to share the Gospel at every chance, I think that would be a beautiful and effective thing.
