Reading this morning …

From Mastery, by E. Stanley Jones

“In a log jam in a river there is usually a key log that is holding up the whole thing. When that log is pried loose or breaks loose, then everything breaks loose with it. The key log that holds us up spiritually and keeps life jammed up and getting nowhere is the log of the unsurrendered self. When that goes, everything goes with it.”

Most of the most important things we do in life are 10-second jobs. Telling that person we love how we feel. Acting on what we know we should do. Offering encouragement. Starting that task we’ve been procrastinating on.

Spiritual freedom comes when we let go of ourselves and follow God. Letting go is a tough, but small, decision, that if we make consistently can be completely life changing.
